The IBM Rational ClearCase Remote Client is user interface that is powered by Eclipse technology and is optimized for use by developers who connect to an IBM Rational ClearCase server over a wide area network. The ClearCase Remote Client uses specially designed protocols to communicate efficiently over networks that have high latency. The ClearCase Remote Client includes many of the features provided by the native ClearCase client and can run on a broad range of Windows® and UNIX® systems, regardless of whether they have Rational ClearCase installed.

With the ClearCase Remote Client you can access resources in remote repositories and load them into local Rational ClearCase web views as ordinary files and directories under Rational ClearCase source control.
